For a couple of weeks, I have been working on putting my art studio together. I was originally painting in my grandfather’s basement, but I didn’t feel inspired at all. It caused me to stop painting for a while, but I never quit creating. So I decided to transform an open room in my house into an art studio, and I am so happy with it. I love that I finally have my very own creative space. I wanted it to have industrial, whimsical and glamorous aspects to it, and I think I achieved that while starting with a simple backdrop of black and white walls. If you follow me on Instagram, I painted a mural of my own in the room. I always wanted to do one for myself; so I chose this Malika Favre Vanity Fair cover (look her up — her work is awesomeness). The studio isn’t completely done. I have a few more things I need for it to be finished, but this is pretty much how it’s going to look.
(I’m currently working on a piece so I blurred it out of the pictures.)
