Rain Drops

Will the rain here ever end?  Just when I think it’s about to leave and the sun comes out, it starts raining all over again and for a couple days at a time.  Well, all of the rain we’ve been getting has definitely inspired me to do these nails.  I love the look of water drop nails.  It’s a cool and easy effect to do.  One day, I would love to try it with gel, but for now, I have to use what I got!  I chose these colors because they remind me of leaves on flowers and trees.  There’s something about water sitting on plants that is satisfyingly beautiful.

Items Used:

  • Base Coat
  • Matte Top Coat
  • Regular Top Coat
  • Dotting Tool

Polishes Used:

Step 1: Coat your index finger with Mojito Madness and your ring and pinky fingers in Pool Side Service.

Step 2: On the right side of your middle finger, coat half of your nail in green.

Step 3: Then, coat the other half of your nail in the blue.  Try to get it as straight as you can so that it can look neat.

Step 4: Apply matte top coat to all of your nails.

Step 5: Using your dotting tool, dip it into your regular base coat.  Then, make some random dots onto your nails.  Make sure the dots vary in size so that there is a more realistic look to them.  Then you’re all done.  :0)
