I’ve been wanting to do these nails for a while now, but I just wasn’t able to get the marbling right. After a few tries, I kind of got the hang of it, but enough where I was pleased with the outcome. I think I’m going to have to practice some more, but I really did like how this mani turned out.
Items Needed:
- Base Coat
- Top Coat
- Spray hand sanitizer or hair spray
- Room temperature water in a plastic cup
- Plastic wrap
- Black acrylic paint
- White acrylic paint
- Toothpick
- Liquid Latex (Optional)
Polishes Used:
- Butter London – Cotton Buds
- Essie – Good as Gold
- L’Oréal – Greycian Goddess
Step 1: After applying your base coat, apply two coats of white polish. If you like apply liquid latex to your fingers, because it will get a bit messy.
Step 2: Using your acrylic paint, mix a little bit of black with a lot of white to make a light grey. Then, ball up your plastic wrap and dip it in the paint. Dab off some of the excess on a paper towel and then dab the light grey onto your nails.
Step 3: Using your dark grey polish, put a drop of polish in the room temperature water. Take your spray and lightly spray into the water. Choose a place that you like and dip your finger into the water. Before you lift your finger out, clean up the water with a tooth pick. (To see water marbling in more detail, click Here.)
Step 4: Do the same as step 3, but with gold polish.
Step 5: Take off latex and clean up if needed.
Step 6: Apply top coat and you’re all finished.
