I usually do a sheer polish on my nails when I’m doing a negative mani, but this time I really went for the complete negative look. I did this adorable nail art straight on top of my base coat. Here’s how I did another one of my back in the day mani’s.
- Base coat
- Top coat
- Black acrylic paint
- Dotting tool
- Nail art brush
- Essie – Ruffles & Feathers
Step 1: Like always, apply your base coat. On your index finger, make a stripe of polish down your finger. Apply two coats so that it will be opaque.
Step 2: Using the black paint and the nail art brush, paint a thin black line down your middle nail.
Step 3: Then make a line in the shape of a sidways “V”. The point of the “V” will be touching the right side of the line and the open part should be facing your index finger.
Step 4: Repeat step 3 with smaller “V’s” inside of the bigger “V”.
Step 5: On your ring finger nail, using the dotting tool and the green polish, make small blobs on your nail.
Step 6: Again with the dotting tool, dip it in black and make black “C’s” around the green blobs and to fill in empty spaces make small black dots.
Step 7: On your pinky, use your striper and draw a “V” with the green polish. The point of the “V” will be near the tip of your nail.
Step 8: Then fill in the area around the “V”.
Step 9: Apply a top coat to all your nails and you’re all done.
